Jemin, full fledged, page 1: Ryslen's Flurry 2003
Lary, I wish to Fly, Adwendaweth sang the rhyme into her bond's mind. Her tone was calm and confident, a perfect match to Jemalrymin's resilient and determined personality. It was this very quality that had finally persuaded her family to come to Ryslen permanently.
Jemin had known this day was coming for quite some time, before her sherbet-and-ice colored dragon had even grown, but it did not prefent her from feeling trepidation. Nervous, but determined to support her bond (and who wouldn't want to see more gorgeous Rainbows flying around?), she swallowed and nodded.
Noticing the change in her daughter's mood, Jaskana stopped cleaning Jemin's weyr and straightened. "What is it, Dear? What does Adwendaweth say?" It was taking some time, but Jemin's mother was getting used to life around Ryslen. The freedom of movement and thought, the warmth of total strangers, and, of course, the dragons, they were all so very new to her. She was still very nervous and shy in general, something she would probably never overcome, but she was no longer terrified in her surroundings.
Jemin paused, staring at her dragonbond for a moment longer before turning to face her mother. She attempted a smile, which came out rather stiff. "She's, ah, ready for her first Mating Flight."
"Really!" Jaskana's eyes widened.
Jemin nodded. Adwendaweth looked on calmly as she turned back to face her. "Would you like me to sign you up on the Flight Boards, then?"
The months had passed and the season had waned, warm sunshine and fragrant breezes giving way to chill air and the smell of snow. Actually, I was hoping to sign up for the Flurry Flight. The invitation was extended to Silvers and Pastels, as well as Whites, Flurries, and some others. I qualify twice-over.
"That you do." Jaskana came up behind Jemin and lay a hand on her shoulder. Jemin smiled at her, and this time it was genuine. "She wants to participate in this year's Flurry."
Her mother returned the expression. "Well that's wonderful. You should go sign yourselves up while there's still space left. Judging from the popularity of the previous Flurries, the slots will fill up fast."
I agree. Please hurry, Lary!
"All right!" Jemin laughed, and hurried out the door, knowing she wasn't too late, but Adwendaweth's enthusiasm spurred her on down the halls.

Despite her impressive display in-flight alongside rainbow White Hyperith, Adwendaweth was caught by a fellow Ryslen-born dragon, Light Bronze Tiassath, and Jemin by his feline rider, Felio'meh of Mi'ihen.
