Omajinai means "good luck charm," in Japanese; Hikaru is to be "bright" or "to shine." Phoe is Vera's secret nickname for Omaji and is rarely used. It refers to "Phoenix," the first incarnation of his that she came into contact with.

¤ Physical Description ¤

¤ Fur/scales/feathers
Omajinai is covered from nose to tail in fur of all kinds, from cream-white on his body to gold-yellow in his mane and the tuft of his tail. Underneath, running from this throat, along his belly, halfway down his tail are white scales typical of many dragons. Finally, while he has no need of wings, he does have a pair covered in gorgeous swan-white feathers.

¤ Eyes
Brown with just a hint of orange, Omaji's eyes look very much like a dog's, a lion's, or a human's. They are expressive and large, with circular pupils.

¤ Physique
Omaji is 33-feet long, again with most of that in length, due to his Asian elderspirit heritage. His neck and tail are very surprisingly long, and with his long body may make one wonder just how he can support himself on such a slender frame. While his legs, fore and hind, are somewhat short (at least in comparison to his body), they are very strong, more than capable of supporting his weight, and adept at striking while balanced on but one or two! Overall, his physical strength is above average (6/10), but his magic strength is vast (10/10!).

¤ Appearance
Overall, Omajinai's appearance is very strange, if not comical at first glance. With his long, white, furry and scaly body, and doglike face, he looks like what is known as a luckdragon. And if anyone has ever seen a luckdragon in action, they are very graceful, strong, and beautiful indeed -- putting any potential chuckles to shame. Unlike most of his relatives, Omaji wears no adornments upon his head such as pearls, antlers, and horns. Instead, his ears are pronounced, flopping to the side like dog-ears. He has large, padded feet, with four clawed toes on each forepaw, three on each back paw. His tail ends in a long, bannerlike tuft of fur colored golden, like his mane.

¤ Personality ¤

¤ Attitude
Omajinai is in all things, wise and mysterious, especially for one his age, making one wonder if this body is yet another avatar... He loves knowing more than he's letting on, which keeps people on their toes. But never will he use this to hurt others, such as to tease or belittle them, for he is at heart a gentle creature. The one thing he cannot comprehend is the depth of his love for his bond, Vera. He would do or give anything, including his life, his future, his very soul for her. And that is infinitely powerful.

¤ Likes and Dislikes
Mmm, ice cream. Omaji absolutely adores ice cream, another one of life's greater mysteries. Anything inherently evil literally makes his skin crawl, like a swarm of parasitic insects. He will battle anything evil, anything that would dare threaten those he loves.

¤ Magic ¤

¤ Avatars
The first apparent talent that Omajinai exhibited was the use of a living avatar, like a projection of himself in the form of another creature, namely a bonfire drake named Phoenix. While said Phoenix remained animated, Omajinai was forced into a trance-like state. This will not be an apparent side effect until later, for Phoenix was only used while Omaji was still in the egg, at a time when most hatchlings appear dormant. Obviously, this is a very difficult power to master, one that was born of a need to be united with his future bond and mate without the ability to physically do so. It took so much energy to maintain that as Phoenix and Vera approached Omaji on his homeworld of Pre'Mian, the avatar's life energy was gradually sucked dry. Another problem arising from this ability is his state of complete helplessness while in the trance. His body may have reflexive defenses, but magic spells require concentration to command them.

¤ Levitation
Another ability of his which may help this potential predicament is that while asleep, all luckdragons, including Omaji, fly. This levitation, an ability that does not require the use of wings, could be used to keep him out of harm's reach.

¤ Healing
Perhaps his power with the most potential and least variety of use is Omaji's ability to heal. Once he learns that he can use it to prolong Vera's life and indeed provide a "fountain of youth" to stop her natural aging process, he has little desire to use it any other way.

¤ Metamorphosing
Like many if not all of the kin on his mother's side, he can "shift," or metamorphose into other creatures. About all he uses this for is to become "human," a shape that retains his whiplike tail, angelic wings, and doglike ears.

¤ Weather
A rarely-used ability is his power over storms. He can make the thunderclouds roar, the rainclouds weep, and the wind sing a beautifully haunting song. When enraged, he can rend the sky asunder and annhilate a foe with a single bolt of lightning. But again, he is a gentle creature with little desire to control anyone or anything beyond himself.
