• • Jöisann's History • •

Jöisann spent much of her childhood in a small cothold near DragonHope's main Hold. Her family mainly provided for themselves, which included hunting wild game in the woods for food. Because the girl did not feel squeamish about the skinning of animal skins and indeed showed a talent in working with the treated hide, her parents decided it was best to nurture her gift. Early on, her father, a man by the name of Amaeitt (ah may ett) taught her what he knew, but in the end, that level of teaching was not enough for someone to make a living off of. Being loving parents, Amaeitt and Edenna (eh denn ah) went to great lengths to send her off, up north to the Tannercraft Hall.

Jöisann attained Journeywoman status at the age of 16 Turns. As soon as she established a name for herself and made enough money from her wares, she moved back down south to be closer to her family. She was nearly seventeen, just getting settled into her craft, when a search dragon from DragonHope Weyr came for her. At first she refused to go, but every Weyr can use a tanner, so she decided that even if she did not Impress, she could make a comfortable living there.
