Jazsen has always lived at the Weyr working in the Lower Caverns. As he grew older, he showed a talent with metalworking, so he was apprenticed to the local Metalsmith, a woman whose two sons he soon befriended, named Pyotr and Ilviylir.

Most of the kitchen staff at Darkling Dawn are familiar with him if they don't know him by name, as he often supplies them with pots and silverware, the latter made with molds of his own artistic design.
