by Neishai

In which Q'xia tells Vash's story.
In which Yatenth decides he needs a dragon to be her mate (yes she's selfish). In which Vash surprises everyone, including himself.

They were a medly of colors, a tiger's eye blue, a yellow marked with lightning bolts, and a red. "I hate hatchings," growled Tenken as the blue and red got themselves tangled up, wings and limbs flailing in all directions. "Well, someone go disentangle them," he said as the red headed over to Daniel.
...
A figure was by the two struggling dragons, watching helplessly as the two tried to get away from eachother. Kimberlyn wished that he could help the little yellow zappy out of the pile but his ghostly form wouldn't allow him to touch the dragon. "Savior, I'm sorry," he said as the dragon whined pitiously.
Try! I know you can!
Kymberlyn reached forward and to his surprise was able to help lift the hatchling clear from his clutchmate. Savior purred happily as he was freed and the other hatchling headed over to the candidates
The tiger-eye blue seemed a bit hesitant as he made his choice but a glare from Tenken hurried him up. He headed over to Vash, peering into the ex-dragonrider's face for acceptance. I know that I can't replace him, but maybe I can help anyways? Could I, Vash?

[ Kyulith ]

"Yes, I think so, Kyulith."
"How sweet," yawned Tenken. "Can't the stinking eggs hatch any faster?"

"Too... sappy..." moaned Tenken to himself as his eyelids began to droop again. The only sap he could stand was his girlfriend, Saernika, and even she got on his nerves sometimes.
To Tenken's intense relief the next two eggs hatched quickly, one of the dragons proving just how not sappy he was by chomping the smaller one in the tail as he hatched.
"Ha!" laughed Tenken. "Now this is a hatching."
Vash, who had been standing aside with his blue, ran forward to pull the battling hatchlings away from eachother. To his surprise he heard the aggresor's voice in his head as the hatchling spat out a bit of blood. Dumb blue. I could have chomped his whole tail off if you didn't stop me.
"What?" asked Vash as he eyed the dragon. The hatchling was dark, his deep blue body punctuated by pinpoints of brightness, a starlight. In contrast, his wings were bright yellow, making the large hatchling stand out.

[ Rukareyth ]

I said I could have mauled the little lizard! The hatchling craned his neck around to glance up at Vash. Yeah, and I am talking to you. I'm Rukareyth. Congrats, I've just bonded to you. Hope the little guy is up to it. Kyulith stood tall in the face of the larger dragon, there was no way he was backing down from this! As Vash tried to figure out what to do with his two dragons the second hatchling, a blue, chose his bond.
