Physical Description

Hair/armor/feathers/fur: Soth has "head knobs" vaguely reminiscent of antennae jutting from the back of his head. Also of note is the crest that runs along his spine.

Skin/exoskeleton/scales/markings: Soth, like other Old World Dragons, has hide as opposed to scales. It is a yellowy-to-reddish copper-brown color overall, with a the redder tint to his wings and yellowish-copper on his body. The under-sails are a creamier shade of the upper-side. His crest is dark-brown; his undersides, from lower lip, down his neck and belly and a fading end of his tail all match this dirt-brown hue.

Limbs: One smallish, streamlined head terminates his a long, sinewy neck. Four legs: the fore are short and reminiscent of arms, and while they are more slender than his hind-legs, are still heavily muscled; the hind limbs are very muscular and reminiscent of clawed human legs. One set (two) wings are long and broad, strong and sail-like, as a bat's, all tines plus thumb, minus the leading edge, ending in claws that match his toes.

Eyes: Two faceted eyes reminiscent of an insect that change color with mood.

Size/Physique: At 34' long, Soth is mid-size for an Old World brown. He is muscular and takes great pride in his strength and surprising agility. His stamina is such that he can fly for longer periods than average, or work hard under strain for many hours. But his ability to to maintain that agility is very short-lived, mainly restricted to use in mating flights, getting out of the way of falling objects (or a rival), that sort of thing.

Other: Soth likes to play with smooth "little pebbles," which of course amount to larger river rocks, and is often seen rolling one between his fingers while he chats with the other dragons. His fondness for them is temporary, and often leaves them behind without a second thought. It is unclear whether they function as a worry stone, or if he simply likes the tactile sensation.

Physical Abilities

Strength: He is a heavy lifter, whether he works as a crane moving large boulders, or pulling on a heavy load, or even hauling an injured comrade to the infirmary.

Agility: Much better than average, but restricted to short bursts.

Assisted Fire Breath: Old world dragons chew on a "phosphine bearing rock" that allows them to belch fire, but then must regurgitate it hours later.

Mental Abilities

Telepathy: All Old World dragons are capable of telepathic speach with their rider and other dragons. Because Soth does not display any inclination to Search, and has yet to show any "interest" in riders beside his own, it is unclear whether he is capable of telepathy with them.

Teleportation: Like other Old World dragons, he is capable of instantaneous travel from one place to another, with the guide of his rider giving a clear picture of their destination.

Personality

From Sedona:

Soth likes other dragons, particularly female dragons, and he is a huge flirt with a particular fondness for sport colors. He is regarded as somewhat weird and gets obsessed with seemingly random subjects, so finds it hard to form lasting relationships, though.

Attitude: Soth is indeed a socialite. He values his time discussing high philosophical points with other dragons. All right, call it flirting if you will. But he loves nothing more than to sit around with the others, sunning himself, and trading little quips. That could also be called gossiping. More than that, he likes his quiet time, when the stars have come out and the lights down low, watching his rider bent over some skin or another. Quietly he likes to ask questions about this or that, offer his opinion, what have you.

Hobbies: Soth has become fascinated with the written word and has attempted to learn to read on his own, with mixed success. With some help from his rider he has a basic grasp of the concepts and most sounds.

Plans: It is unclear whether his literacy obsession will amount to anything, though he has been caught chattering about it to half-interested wingmates. Perhaps he wishes to teach them?

History

Soth is most certainly a dragon of Old World blood. He was born at Darkling Dawn in the years before the establishment of Sedona. He and some of his clutchmates and wingmembers have since helped fill in the ranks of the newly established Weyr, where tradition is only upheld in name and by appearance. He does not see the reason to discriminate between different colors. He is so used to the diversity found within his wing alone that he really cannot comprehend the problem. However, it would seem that it is enough of a problem that some of his friends are considering leaving altogether.
