Hair/armor/feathers/fur: Fluffy and brown, his hair is curly enough to be charming but the frizz makes it fly-away in certain humidities. It falls to the nape of his neck, making it difficult to hold back except with a hat, helmet, or bandana. The latter is what he prefers, rolled-up to catch sweat when he's working, or wrapped around his hair under his helmet when in the air.
Skin/exoskeleton/scales/markings: Though quite tanned, his skin is naturally rather pale, with a light dusting of freckles across his nose and cheeks, and the tops of his shoulders. Every couple of years he finds new moles on his arms, but hardly notices.
Limbs: He has them. All the normal number of each found in humans.
Eyes: His eyes are hazel-brown, equally brown and yellow and grey, in interesting calico and vaguely prismatic effect, should anyone care to notice. His eyes have that large, almost feminine look to them as well as long lashes.
Size/Physique: Just barely reaching the 6'4" mark, to call him tall is a bit of an understatement. In his particular wing, only Fhariji the giraffe-shifter is taller. He has broad shoulders and strong muscles that are long and toned like a swimmer's.
Other: When given a choice, he prefers to go shirtless while working outside. He favors the heat and tingling of sun on his back. Otherwise, anything will do, usually a hastily donned jacket with work pants (and lots of pockets) and short utility boots that he wears loose enough to pull off on a whim.
Strength: He has nothing that makes him stand out, though his stamina has been strengthened over time through his love of the water. He is also used to lifting heavy objects.
Analysis: Strategy is only one facet of his his strongest point, and some would consider his mental faculties stronger than most bronzeriders. But dragons don't always choose their riders based on their leadership abilities, and Soth would never tell you that was why he chose V'ben. If he did, most people would laugh anyway.

From Sedona:
Though he is generally considered pretty attractive, V'ben is a shy guy and gets nervous at the idea of flirting. He is pretty introverted and kind of clumsy, especially in unfamiliar circumstances, but he's pretty smart and has a head for strategy.
Attitude: V'ben's social awkwardness comes more from his introverted interests than any specific complexes. That said, his desire to avoid conflict, clumsiness, and that overall social ineptitude usually snowball. It can really be quite terrifying. He knows plenty of people with lofty ambitions that would rather beat him down should he show any interest in rising above his current station. It's so much easier just to hide out among the stacks of old skins and parchments.
Hobbies: He loves pouring over old documents, including ones that have nothing to do with wings, dangers, or strategy. He likes to study old irrigation and tunnel diagrams, illustrated guides to flora and fauna, anything that he can use to better understand the world around him and give him a clearer picture in his mind. After all, analysis is one of his strongest suits. However, his favorite recreation is swimming, and he has been known to spend entire afternoons "swept out to sea," with his dragon Soth.
Plans: He has no plans, really, and certainly no ambitions. The main reason for being placed as Wingsecond were probably for his pliability as much as his technical skill. That said, he really would love to muster the courage to approach Fharaji on more than a professional level.
It was expected that Vishben and his siblings would carry on in some form the family weaving tradition. Only his sister Banifuel did so, and only because she genuinely enjoyed it. Each of the three children had inherited a strong sense of freedom and independence that is famously attributed to their father, a bronzerider, and is probably why their mother fell for him. The youngest, Navune, surprised everyone when he followed another boy, Fhariji's younger brother Zansig, home and took up the metalcraft to specialize in archery and other long-range weaponry. He's a pretty good shot.
Originally from the Old World, V'ben's family came from, among other places, the area around Sedona. For this reason, there is a slightly confusing question as to which members were born in the Old World, and which were born at Darkling Dawn. V'ben's immediate family are, in fact, all from Darkling Dawn. He and his wing were among the first to volunteer to serve Sedona and frequently travels between the two places to visit, or to transport family in for various events (gathers and weddings, hatchings) or simply to vacation. Personally he does not want anyone exposed to deingons but wherever you go there will be new challenges and dangers to face.
V'ben waited not-so-long to bond to his brown, though he honestly would have been happy remaining in the records room indefinitely. As a weyrling he became close with others from similar clutches and developed particular fondness for Fhariji. However, if there is one thing their wingmate, the lion G'ral, is not lax about, it is keeping V'ben distracted (or cowed) enough to say very little about it. At least they have similar interests; if nothing else he can enjoy her presence every day while dodging G'ral's antics. Someday however, things will change.
